A Man Runs into a Woman

Last night I attended the launch of Sarah Jane Barnett’s debut poetry book A Man Runs intoA Woman at the City Gallery.  The book design, by The International Office, is beautiful and it’s exciting to have new Wellington publisher, Hue and Cry, enter the poetry scene. I’ve been following Sarah’s poetry for years—and I’m looking forward to seeing how all the poems I’ve read so far fit together.  Sarah’s combination of prose poems and regular ‘lines that don't go all the way to the end of the page’ poems is interesting, as are the host of different personas in her work.  It’s a beautiful book and I know that these poems rock.
